Play4 Night Game’s 1-1-1-1 Pays Out Record Breaking $7,947,500 in Prizes on April 5
For the second time in CT Lottery history, 1 – 1 – 1 – 1 was drawn in the “Play4 Night” game on April 5, 2013, breaking records with its amazing payout worth nearly $8 million in prizes to 1,960 winners statewide.
Players celebrated their Play4 Night
win by showing up in droves at Lottery High-Tier Claim Centers in New London, Norwalk, West Haven and Waterbury, and at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill to claim their prizes. By noon today, more than $4,000,000 of the $7,947,500 in prizes had been claimed making the April 5 drawing the single largest payout in the Play4 game’s history.
“1 – 1 – 1 – 1 is one of the most popular combinations played, so we expected a steady stream of winners come in to collect their winnings,” said Diane Patterson, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for the CT Lottery. “This isn’t something you see every day, so it is very exciting for our players.”
Since the Play4 Night game began, 1 – 1 – 1 – 1 has been drawn only once before, on January 1, 2002, that time with a payout of $6,235,000.
Because prize payouts in the game are based upon amount wagered, players could have won $2,500 (for a $.50 wager) up to $25,000 (for a $5.00 wager). High-Tier Centers are able to cash CT Lottery prizes up to $5,000.
Though the bulk of winners will most likely redeem their tickets in the next few days, players with winning tickets have 180-days from the date of draw to collect their winnings.
