Bristol Man Wins $100,000 Lottery Prize for Being at the “Right Place at the Right Time”Benjamin Urso of Bristol recently became the 15th lucky person to reveal 6 RED WORDS and win a $100,000 prize playing a CT Lottery “$100,000 Cashword 6” scratch game ticket. “I was at the right place at the right time,” Urso explained to lottery officials. “Cashword is one of my dad’s favorite games to play. This time, I decided to buy one myself. I even bought the ticket at the same store that my dad gets his.”
$100,000 Cashword 6, a hugely popular crossword-puzzle style of game, is an “extended play” instant game. The $10 ticket takes more time to play than a standard ticket, and the prizes that can be won are built upon how many matches are made as the play is completed.
“This [prize] came at a perfect time. I just got laid off two weeks ago,” said Urso, a licensed electrician. “I’m not sure what I’ll do with the prize just yet. Maybe I’ll use it as a down payment on a house.”
Urso’s $100,000 prize winning ticket was purchased at Avenue News located at 821 Farmington Avenue in Bristol. For selling the ticket, Avenue News will receive a $1,000 check from the CT Lottery.
The winning names, stories and photos on this website are just a small number of the thousands who claim prizes. The fact is, people win every day with the CT Lottery! Below is a list of recently claimed prizes of $10,000 or more. Please Note: When a winning scratch ticket is validated through a Lottery Retailer's terminal, the remaining number of unclaimed prizes for that prize level is automatically updated reflecting one less prize. Until the individual or group presents their winning ticket for claim at CT Lottery Headquarters, the identity of a winner is unknown.
