"Black" Ticket Delivers Instant "Green" First Top Prize of $50,000As Marie Carrubba of Oxford scratched the black colored coating from the "Connecticut Lottery Black" instant ticket she purchased at Klankos on South Main Street in Ansonia, she had no idea she’d see so much "green." Green, that is, that came in the form of winning the game's first of four $50,000 top prizes.
Lottery officials validated Carrubba’s ticket, verifying her claim as the game’s first top prize winner. Carrubba’s win makes her Oxford’s largest Lottery winner since local resident Justin Vescovi scratched a $500,000 windfall one year ago this week on a “$500,000 Club” CT Lottery instant ticket.
Carrubba received a prize check worth $34,251 (after taxes).
The winning names, stories and photos on this website are just a small number of the thousands who claim prizes. The fact is, people win every day with the CT Lottery! Below is a list of recently claimed prizes of $10,000 or more. Please Note: When a winning scratch ticket is validated through a Lottery Retailer's terminal, the remaining number of unclaimed prizes for that prize level is automatically updated reflecting one less prize. Until the individual or group presents their winning ticket for claim at CT Lottery Headquarters, the identity of a winner is unknown.
