Wednesday’s Powerball Jackpot Rolls to an Impressive $235 MillionWhen no one matched the winning Powerball numbers last Saturday, it rolled the Wednesday night jackpot up to an impressive $235 million ($136.5 million estimated cash value).  Because demand for tickets will continue to rise until the Wednesday night drawing, players are advised to purchase their Powerball tickets early to avoid the last-minute rush.

"When the Powerball jackpot starts to roll at this level, people begin to pay attention and get in the game,” said CT Lottery’s Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Diane Patterson.  “We’re hoping to see a lot of CT players win and hopefully, win the jackpot!”

Since the new Powerball game began on January 15, 2012, Connecticut has sold 13 prize winning tickets each worth $1,000,000, plus another 5 tickets that were “Power Played” for the game’s $2,000,000 prize.

Powerball is drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59pm. Tickets for this Powerball drawing will be available until 9:50pm Wednesday at more than 2,800 Lottery retailers statewide.
