September 25, 2012 -- Life has been good for Bruno Acca of Plainville who on July 28, 2006, won a $3.3 million Classic Lotto jackpot from the CT Lottery.  Thanks to playing his favorite Lotto numbers that day, he and his wife, Sharon, were able to pay off their mortgage, put their daughter through college, and invest the remainder of the jackpot’s cash lump sum wisely.  Yesterday, Acca visited Lottery headquarters again, this time to claim a $50,000 top prize in the $5 instant game “Super Cashword 15.”

“My wife was home sick in bed, so I went grocery shopping to buy eggs, milk, and a Super Cashword 15 ticket,” Acca told Lottery officials.  “After I put the groceries away, I scratched the ticket and got three words, right off the bat.  I kept on scratching until I got my 10th word, ROOF.  It was a $50,000 winner—I couldn’t believe it.”

Super Cashword, which is similar in style to a crossword puzzle, is a CT Lottery fan favorite of those who enjoy the game’s extended style of play, building prizes upon how many letter matches and complete words are made.

The Accas arrived at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill yesterday to claim their latest prize win in a check for $34,151 (value after taxes).  “Tomorrow is our 31st wedding anniversary.  This is a nice way to celebrate it,” Sharon remarked.

For selling Acca his $50,000 top prize winning ticket, Gnazzo Food Center, located at 73 East Street in Plainville, will receive a $500 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
