SALARY: CL 17 $44,845 - $58,443
This position will assist in the routine performance of purchasing, contract compliance and asset tracking duties for the Connecticut Lottery Corporation. Duties will include: preparing routine requisitions and purchase orders; acting as liaison to internal departments, other state agencies and vendors regarding purchasing policies and procedures; initiating the competitive bid process; reviewing current supply levels and usage trends; ordering, receiving, unpacking, stocking, storing and delivering office supplies, accepting and inspecting deliveries; examining invoices; maintaining database of all CLC equipment; coding purchasing to expense and asset accounts; related duties as required.
Experience and Qualifications: College training may be substituted for experience subject to applicable rules. Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of clerical work involving purchasing or procurement. Two (2) years must have been at a technical or complex clerical level. Knowledge of purchasing principles, procedures and inventory control procedures; ability to organize and coordinate workflow; perform research assignments; devise and maintain record keeping and filing systems; ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness; excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner; must be a flexible self-starter, work independently and make appropriate-level decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as the ability to learn new computer software systems is expected. This position may be responsible for leading lower level clerical employees as assigned.
