CT Lottery 9 – 9 – 9 Players Hit Number Out of the Park with a “Triple”
September 26, 2012 -- A big “triple” was scored in last night’s Play3 Night drawing for the lucky lottery players who had 9 – 9 – 9 on their Play3 Night tickets for September 25. Statewide, 1,763 winning wagers were sold and after all winning claims are presented, $675,850 in prize money will be paid out by the CT Lottery. This is the seventh largest payout in Play3 Night history for the triple nine sequence.
Since the Play3 Night game began, 9 – 9 – 9 has been drawn a total of eighteen times in the nightly drawing with the last combination being picked on November 9, 2010.
“9 – 9 – 9 is tied with 5 – 5 – 5 as the most frequently drawn triple digit sequence played in the Play3 Night game,” said Diane Patterson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the CT Lottery. “As a very popular number, we expect to see a steady stream of winners over the next few days at Lottery headquarters, retailers and our High-Tier Claim Centers to cash in on their prizes.”
Because prize payouts in the game are based upon amount wagered, players could have won $250 (for a $.50 wager) up to $2,500 (for a $5.00 wager). High-Tier Claim Centers are able to cash CT Lottery prizes up to $5,000.
Though the bulk of winners will most likely redeem their tickets in the next few days, players with winning tickets have 180-days from the date of draw to collect their winnings.
