Antonina Badura of Wethersfield Claims Second of Four “7” Instant Game Top Prizes
Lottery’s “7” Instant Game Delivers Thirst-Quenching $77,777 Top Prize
July 25, 2013 -- Last Monday was a hot one, which prompted a thirsty Antonina Badura of Wethersfield to ask her husband, Jan, to stop the car to get something to drink. While making her purchase, Badura’s eye was drawn to the CT Lottery “7” instant game, so she bought one. Later that evening, Badura scratched her ticket and was rewarded with a cool $77,777 for the game’s top prize.
“My birthday is in July, so 7 has always been my favorite number,” Badura explained to Lottery officials. “When I scratched the ticket and saw all the 7’s, I was a little confused. I asked Jan what it meant. He told me, ‘It’s a winner…a BIG winner!’ We jumped; we were so excited!”
Today, Antonina and Jan arrived at Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill and received a prize check for $53,123 (value after taxes). “I have always wanted to drive a red car. Maybe now I will buy one,” said Badura with the sweetest of smiles. “I also want to help our son with a down payment on a car, too.”
For selling Bedura her $77,777 top prize winning ticket, Mom & Pop Discount Liquors, located at 184 Shunpike Road in Cromwell will receive a $777.77 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
