New Britain Man Snags $10,000 Lottery Prize at “In & Out” Convenience Store
August 30, 2012 --
While on his way to work, 30-year veteran machinist Roy Lewis of New Britain stopped at his favorite CT Lottery retailer to cash some winning lottery tickets. With his prize money, Lewis purchased a “10X Cash 6th Edition
” instant game and won yet again—one of the game’s $10,000 top prizes. “The biggest prize I ever won before was a thousand dollars,” Lewis said, “This was a shock.”
Lewis is one of the newest top prize winners in the series of 10X Cash games. Launched by the CT Lottery in July, 2008, more than 580 top prize winning tickets worth $10,000 each have been claimed.
“With more than a hundred $10,000 top prizes, and more than $17 million in total prizes in the game, there are plenty of opportunities for players to win significant prizes,” said Anne M. Noble, President and CEO for the CT Lottery.
Lewis arrived at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill to accept a prize check for $6,833 (value after taxes). For selling Lewis his top prize winning ticket, In & Out Convenience Store, located at 1015 East Street in New Britain, will receive a $100 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
