Maxwell Warchol Shares $10,000 Top Prize Playing “Ink” Instant Game
West Hartford Duo Get “Inked” and Win $10,000 Prize
July 23, 2012 -- Old high school friends Maxwell Warchol and Tomas Foley, both of West Hartford, recently participated in a local radio contest with the hope of winning some cash, but it didn’t pan out. Later, the duo stopped at a local CT Lottery retailer where Warchol purchased an “
Ink” instant game ticket, and experienced a whole different outcome—he revealed the game’s top prize worth $10,000. Warchol turned to Foley and asked him to double-check the ticket. “I told him to slap me,” Warchol told Lottery officials with a laugh. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It was $10,000!”
Warchol and Foley, who split the prize, arrived at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill last week to accept a prize check for $6,830 (value after taxes). Tomas will put some money toward the purchase of a new car; Warchol plans on getting inked with a new tattoo, and enjoying some of the prize money with friends.
Bishop’s Corner Shell located at 2512 Albany Avenue in West Hartford will receive a check for $100 from the CT Lottery for selling Warchol the winning ticket.
