Baltic Resident Hears Cha-Ching! Wins $10,000 Lottery Prize
September 13, 2011 -- Since the CT Lottery instant game “10X Cash 5th Edition” launched on May 26, 2011, so far thirty-two top prize winners have claimed the game’s $10,000 top prize, and Dan Donahue, Jr. of Baltic is sure glad he’s one of them. “I heard the ‘cha-ching’ of the lottery terminal and I knew I won something,” said Donohue with a laugh.
Donahue bought the 10X Cash 5th Edition ticket because of the large number of top prizes in the game. “I saw there were 110 top prizes, so it looked like a good ticket to buy,” explained Donahue. Donahue, a no-nonsense kind of guy, got right down to business and scratched off the barcode area for the clerk to scan. He was happily rewarded with the sweet sound of success. “This will help take care of some bills, and pay for my wife’s 40th birthday surprise party,” Donahue told Lottery officials.
Donahue visited CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill yesterday and collected his prize check for $6,833 (value after taxes). Donahue’s top prize winning ticket was purchased at Baltic Convenience Store located at 4 W. Main Street in Baltic. The retailer will receive a $100 bonus check for selling the ticket.
