Henry Fox of Guilford was getting ready for work when he saw the CT Lottery’s Cash5 winning numbers for the June 5, 2011 drawing displayed during the local morning news.  Moments later, Fox ran to his car and retrieved his Cash5 ticket from the glove box.  Much to Fox’s amazement, his favorite “family birthday” numbers were an exact match to the winning numbers drawn making Fox a $100,000 prize winner.  “I couldn’t get out of my car fast enough to tell my wife.  I don’t think my feet even touched the ground,” Fox jokingly said to Lottery officials. 

The winning Cash5 numbers drawn on June 5 were 7 - 12 - 15 - 16 - 25.  A total of 3,918 winning tickets were sold statewide for that drawing.  Prize values ranged from $2 to $100,000 each.

Rushing into the house, Fox blurted out to his wife, “I think we won $100,000.”  Together, they logged onto the CT Lottery website (ctlottery.org) to verify the Cash5 winning numbers.  “We both compared the numbers, and there it was...$100,000.  It was beautiful!” Fox said.

Fox, a computer control machinist, collected a prize check for $68,500 (the prize value after taxes) at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill.  “This will help pay to fix our cars, and buy a new refrigerator,” said Fox.

Fox purchased his Cash5 winning ticket at North Branford Gulf, located at 1645 Foxon Road in North Branford.  For selling the winning ticket, North Branford Gulf will receive a $1,000 selling bonus from the CT Lottery.
