Ken and Ann Kubel of Fairfield Win $20,000 Playing 20X The Cash 4th Edition
Bridgeport Doughnut Inn Delivers Delicious Lottery Win
April 20, 2011 -- "National Doughnut Day" may not be until June 3, but  Ann and Ken Kubel of Fairfield found a whole other reason to celebrate the tasty treat a little early—thanks to their recent purchase of a CT Lottery $20,000 top prize winning “20X The Cash 4th Edition” instant game ticket.

As a full-time mother of four, Ann is in charge of a very busy household, which includes picking up her son at his part-time job at a doughnut and convenience store. Recently, Ann purchased a 20X The Cash 4th Edition instant ticket while waiting at the store for her son’s shift to end. “I won $200 on this game before, so I like this game,” Ann told to lottery officials.

This time, the winning combination on Kubel’s ticket was especially sweet.  Because she revealed a “20X” symbol, her $1,000 prize was automatically multiplied by 20 for a total prize of $20,000.  “I just started screaming; my poor soon thought something was wrong with me at first,” said Ann laughing.

Yesterday, Kubel and her husband, Ken, arrived at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill today to claim their check for $13,706 (prize value after taxes).  The prize certainly comes at a good time for the Kubels.   “Our daughter recently got engaged, so this will help with paying for some of that,” Ann said. “A small vacation, too, that would be nice…and to buy a bigger grill,” said Ken with a laugh.

For selling the Kubel’s their top prize winning ticket, Doughnut Inn, located on Boston Avenue in Bridgeport, will receive a $200 bonus from the CT Lottery.
