April 14, 2011 -- Anna Livi of Milford is a CT Lottery “Cashword” instant game kind of gal.  “I enjoy passing the time with Cashword.  I like that it takes time to play,” Livi said.  Recently, Livi purchased two "$100,000 Cashword 3" tickets from her favorite lottery retailer, and brought them home to play.  When she saw that one of them had a winning combination of "3 BLACK WORDS" and "3 RED WORDS" she asked Mickey, her husband of 52 years, to double check her ticket.  “He told me I won $10,000…and then I kissed him!” Livi told lottery officials with a laugh.  “Actually, I had to revive her,” Mickey said jokingly.

$100,000 Cashword 3, a hugely popular crossword-puzzle style of game, is an “extended play” instant game.  The $10 ticket takes more time to play than a standard ticket, and the prizes that can be won are built upon how many matches are made as the play is completed.

Livi and her husband arrived at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill this past week where she happily accepted a check for $6,853 (prize value after taxes).  “I never thought I would win this kind of money,” Livi said.  For Livi, the unexpected $10,000 windfall will give her the opportunity to do something special for her family.  “I’m going to split the prize with my daughter and two grandsons.  That’s the best part of winning!”
 
Livi purchased her winning $100,000 Cashword 3 ticket at Woodmont Shell/Motorcade, Inc., located at 190 Woodmont Road in Milford.  For selling Livi her $10,000 prize winning ticket, Woodmont Shell will receive a $100 selling bonus from the CT Lottery.
