November 15, 2010 -- The ground may be full of fallen leaves, but Enfield landscaper, Michael Jacobs, was ready on the spot to rake in a $100,000 top prize from the instant game, "$100,000 Casino."

After making his $10 lottery purchase from a local Stop & Shop, Jacobs returned to his car to relax for a minute and to play his $100,000 Casino ticket. Shockingly, he revealed a matching pair of 7's with a prize value of $100,000. "I stared at the ticket for a minute or two, but I wasn't positive I could be right," Jacobs told lottery officials.

Jacobs walked back into the store to have the lottery clerk scan and validate his ticket. "He was very excited for me," said Jacobs. "We were screaming, high fiving and jumping up and down.”

Like many folks these days, Jacob's job as a landscaper is one that helps him make ends meet while looking for more permanent work. "I was an operations manager for a major car rental company. After I got laid off, I went to work with a friend in landscaping. "The prize money comes at an especially good time for Jacobs. "It'll help pay off some bills, but I will have to think more about what to do with the rest.”

Jacobs arrived at lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill recently to claim his check for $68,503 (prize value after taxes).

Stop & Shop, located on Hazard Avenue in Enfield sold Jacobs his top prize winning ticket, and will receive a $1,000 bonus for doing so.
