Krystyna Dudzikowski of Plymouth is Second Classic
Seamstress "Takes In" $1,900,000 Jackpot Prize
March 08, 2010 --
Spring is a very busy time of year for full-time seamstress and business owner, Krystyna Dudzikowski of Plymouth; there are always plenty of tuxes, wedding and high school prom dresses to alter. Today, however, Dudzikowski finally took a moment to put down her sewing needle and become CT’s newest Lottery millionaire, claiming the winning jackpot ticket from the February 9th Classic Lotto
drawing worth $1,900,000.
The winning Classic Lotto numbers drawn on that date were 07 - 12 - 20 - 29 - 37 - 43, which ironically were the same numbers that Dudzikowski picked while playing a game of "bingo" with her husband. "I still can’t believe it," Dudzikowski told Lottery officials.
While Dudzikowski’s winning jackpot ticket was the only one sold for the February 9th Classic Lotto drawing, there were also 6,029 additional winning tickets in that draw; winning prizes ranged from $2 up to $1,855 each.
Classic Lotto’s jackpot prize is payable as a 21-year annuity or as a one-time cash lump-sum. After consulting with a financial advisor, Dudzikowski chose the jackpot’s lump-sum option of $1,158,043 and received a prize check for $793,259 (after taxes). "This money won’t change me; I love what I do" Dudzikowski said. "It will help pay for my daughter’s college. It will also help other people in my family; I would like to help them," said Dudzikowski.
Dudzikowski’s winning jackpot ticket was sold by Pete’s Deli & Grocery located at 446 Main Street in Terryville. A bonus of $10,000 is awarded to retailers in good standing that sell Classic Lotto jackpot tickets.
