The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) recognizes the value and importance of promoting diversity and inclusion within our organization, with the suppliers and retailers we do business, and across the communities we serve.
We respect and value the contributions of all of our employees. We strive to recruit and develop the best and brightest talent without regard to race, color, religious creed, age, sex, marital status, disability, or any of the protected groups outlined in our Affirmative Action policy. This is because we believe the best ideas come from many different perspectives.
The CT Lottery Supplier Diversity Program is reflective of our Corporate Responsibility and incorporates the CT Department of Administrative Services (DAS) goal for supplier diversity to ensure Connecticut’s Small, Minority-owned Businesses have an opportunity to bid on state purchases. The DAS defines a Small, Minority-owned Business as one that is 51% owned and for which the management and daily operations are controlled by a minority.
Although we continue to consistently exceed the DAS supplier diversity goal, the CLC believes supplier diversity is a critical business strategy so we recently boosted our
commitment by launching a more robust program.
Our website now features online registrations for certified diverse suppliers; easy links to view open bids and employment opportunities; and a calendar showcasing upcoming events to bring diverse suppliers together with our internal buyers and Prime Vendors. When fully implemented, we will also have enhanced our metrics and tracking capacity to better help us monitor progress and ensure our program continues to align with our overall inclusion strategy.
The CLC does business with many different types of retailers across every community in Connecticut. Together, we can responsibly contribute significant revenues to the CT General Fund – which supports education, infrastructure, public health and safety, and other much-needed community-based projects.
