The CT Lottery has done a “Lotto Good” for Connecticut having delivered more than $7.5 BILLION for valuable programs and causes.  Our financial success reflects sound business planning and a commitment to integrity.  In fiscal year 2012, the CT Lottery achieved record sales of $1.082 billion, returning a record $310.0 million to the state’s General Fund.  Players won a record $659.9 million and payments to retailers were a record $60.74 million.

Our partnership with nearly 2,800 retailers who sell our tickets is critical.  The revenue retailers earn from the sale of Lottery products works to keep their profits and workforce stable.  Of equal importance are Connecticut’s local businesses.  We purchase services and products from community resources whenever possible and will continue to do so to the best of our ability.

A strong commitment to responsible gaming is deeply embedded in our everyday culture.  In 2012, the CT Lottery achieved Level 2 Certification for its responsible gaming program from the World Lottery Association—one of only six U.S. lotteries to achieve this distinction—demonstrating the Lottery’s ability to meet the highest standards in our industry for corporate and social responsibility.  The National Council on Problem Gambling and McGill University also selected the CT Lottery as the recipient of the first “North American 2011 Holiday Campaign Award,” which recognized the Lottery’s outstanding commitment during the holiday season to responsible play.
